Yogyakarta, October 14, 2025 — As a form of commitment to equitable and inclusive access to higher education, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta has awarded the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) College Scholarships to 611 new students for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The symbolic handover of the scholarships was conducted by Dr. Hendro Widjanarko, S.E., M.M., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Collaboration, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The recipients represent students from all study programs across the seven faculties of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta.
In his remarks, Dr. Hendro emphasized that the KIP scholarship is not merely a financial aid program, but also a moral commitment by the university to provide equal educational opportunities for all Indonesian youth, regardless of their economic background.
“UPN ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta believes that every student has the same potential to grow and succeed. Through the KIP program, we want to ensure that no student is left behind simply because of financial limitations,” he said.
The KIP scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides living allowances to its recipients, allowing them to focus entirely on their studies and personal development without financial burdens.
A total of 611 scholarship recipients are distributed across all study programs within the university’s seven faculties. This diversity reflects UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta’s strong commitment to fairness and equal access to education, in line with the university’s core values of Bela Negara — the spirit of serving and contributing to the nation.
“We hope that the scholarship recipients will make the most of this opportunity, study diligently, and become role models for other students,” added Dr. Hendro.
Through this scholarship program, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its role as an inclusive, character-driven, and socially responsible university, dedicated to empowering the younger generation to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.
