Yogyakarta, 7 November 2025 — The Indonesian Association of Communication Scholars, Special Region of Yogyakarta (ISKI DIY), enters a new chapter of leadership. Through its Regional Congress (Muswil), held virtually on Friday morning, 7 November 2025 at 07:30 WIB, Yudhy Widya Kusumo, S.Sos., M.A., was officially elected as Chair of ISKI DIY for the 2025–2029 period, with Eka Anisa Sari, M.I.Kom., elected as Vice Chair.
The congress, conducted warmly with a strong collaborative spirit, brought together communication academics and professionals from various institutions across Yogyakarta. The event began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony, followed by remarks from ISKI DIY Caretaker Moh. Zamroni, who emphasized the importance of organizational continuity and strengthening ISKI’s role in fostering a healthy and professional communication ecosystem.
Outgoing Chair, Dr. Wisnu Martha Adiputra, delivered a reflection on the organization’s achievements during his tenure while expressing full support for the incoming leadership. Also in attendance was the National Chair of ISKI, Prof. Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, S.H., S.Sos., M.Si., who officially opened the congress and underscored the need for strong organizational consolidation amid the rapid growth of communication and media industries.
A Dynamic and Democratic Election
Following the opening session, the congress proceeded to the Plenary Meeting chaired by the appointed session leader. The key agenda included the election of the Chair and Vice Chair, the formation of the organizing committee, and the delivery of the elected chair’s vision. Through an online voting process, Yudhy Widya Kusumo was democratically elected by the participants. The election ran smoothly, with active participation reflecting a shared commitment to collective progress.

In his inaugural remarks, Yudhy expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and affirmed his commitment to advancing ISKI DIY as a more solid, progressive, and relevant professional organization in responding to today’s communication challenges. He highlighted the importance of synergy between academics and practitioners and emphasized the development of strategic programs that generate meaningful impact for both society and communication education in Yogyakarta.

This year’s congress marks an important milestone in strengthening ISKI DIY as an adaptive, inclusive, and competitive professional organization. ISKI Caretaker, Prof. Dr. Puji Lestari, M.Si., closed the event with an inspiring message:
