Yogyakarta, October 17, 2025 — To support the academic career development of its early-career lecturers, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta held a program titled “Faculty Insight Forum” on Friday, October 17, 2025.
The event featured representatives from the Human Resources Division of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, who shared insights on key aspects of academic career advancement — including PEKERTI and Applied Approach (AA) training programs, academic ranks, lecturer certification (Serdos), postgraduate studies, and strategies for professional growth within higher education.
Building a Supportive Pathway for Academic Development
In his opening remarks, Dr. Susanta, M.Si., Dean of FISIP, emphasized that the initiative reflects the faculty’s commitment to helping young lecturers grow and succeed from the early stages of their academic journey.
“As the number of young lecturers in FISIP continues to grow, they naturally need mentoring and career guidance. Through this forum, we hope to provide them with the space to discuss, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of the steps involved in developing a successful academic career,” said Dr. Susanta.
Beyond a policy-sharing platform, the Faculty Insight Forum also served as an opportunity for open dialogue and peer learning between young lecturers, the faculty leadership, and the university’s HR team. The session featured lively exchanges as participants discussed postgraduate study plans, publication strategies, and workload management (BKD).
A Continuing Initiative for Academic Excellence
Dr. Susanta noted that such forums will become a regular program at FISIP, given their importance in strengthening faculty capacity and enhancing institutional performance.
“We hope this forum brings tangible benefits to our young lecturers — helping them map their academic career pathways, build confidence, and grow into educators who are not only excellent, but also grounded in character and impact,” he added.
Through initiatives like this, FISIP UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta reaffirms its commitment to cultivating a collaborative, supportive, and quality-driven academic ecosystem, where every lecturer is empowered to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the university’s mission.
